FIFA 2010 THEME SONG

Ooooooh Wooooooh

Give me freedom, give me fire, give me reason, take me higher
See the champions, take the field now, you define us, make us feel proud
In the streets are, exaliftin , as we lose our inhabition,
Celebration its around us, every nation, all around us

Singin forever young, singin songs underneath that sun
Lets rejoice in the beautiful game.
And together at the end of the day.

WE ALL SAY

When I get older I will be stronger
They'll call me freedom Just like a wavin' flag
And then it goes back
And then it goes back
And then it goes back

When I get older I will be stronger
They'll call me freedom
Just like a wavin' flag
And then it goes back
And then it goes back
And then it goes

Oooooooooooooh woooooooooohh hohoho

Give you freedom, give you fire, give you reason, take you higher
See the champions, take the field now, you define us, make us feel proud
In the streets are, exaliftin, every loser in ambition,
Celebration, its around us, every nations, all around us

Singin forever young, singin songs underneath that sun
Lets rejoice in the beautiful game.
And together at the end of the day.

Oooooooooooooh woooooooooohh hohoho

WE ALL SAY

When I get older I will be stronger
They'll call me freedom Just like a wavin' flag
And then it goes back
And then it goes back
And then it goes back

Indian stars at IIFA charity cricket match

Around 30 to 40 Indian actors will take part in the fund raising ‘Charity for Children’ cricket match that will be a part of the Videocon IIFA Weekend

Kumar Sangakkara,

Hirthik Roshan

Sunil Shetty
“The event is basically organized to give fans the opportunity to mingle with the stars. They will be able to get autographs, shake hands, pose for photographs, and buy signed T shirts and souvenier cricket bats at the Sinhalese Sports Club on June 4”.
Actors Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Amrita Rao and many others will be present at the event along with local cricketers Kumara Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardena, Muttiah Muralitharan, Sanath Jayasuriya, Lasith Malinga and others.
Seasoned cricketers like Romesh Kaluwitharana, Upul Chandana, Avishka Gunawardena and D S de Silva will also take part. The official toss will be done at the hands of Bipasha Basu and Sanjay Dutt.
Three teams comprising 33 players will play 10 over matches. The winning team of the first match will compete with the other team. Kumara Sangakkara, Hrithik Roshan and Sunil Shetty will captain the teams.
“The whole event will take about four hours and people would be able to see their favourite stars up close. The actors will be travelling around in beach bungees. There will also be a musical show in which the artistes will perform with vocalists like Bathiya and Santhush. It is basically a carnival rather than a competitive event”.
He also added that Indian cricketers Harbhajan Singh, Javagal Srinath, Mohammed Kaif and others are expected to take part.
Three sets of uniforms have been designed for the match. Originally it was just two uniforms, the blue and the yellow but now with lots of cricketers and artistes eager to take part there will be another uniform that will be designed for the third team. The actors and cricketers will intermingle in the teams. They will not compete with each other separately.
The third uniform will be revealed today in Mumbai. It will be black in colour. Sri Lankan cricketers Sanath Jayasuriya and Kumar Sangakkara will be present at the event to take part in the discussions.
Through this initiative, children are being trained as ‘Cricket Peer Leaders’ and will be given a chance to participate in the celebrity cricket match. IIFA in partnership with Habitat for Humanity will adopt and rebuild a village for refugees in Kilinochchi.
“This is a great opportunity for cricket lovers as well as movie buffs to get together to meet some of their favourite stars."

Vesak Sathiya

Vesak Fastival of Sri Lanka

Vesak is celebrated island wide in May as the most significant of all Buddhist festivals and it marks the Birth, Enlightenment and Parinibbana of Lord Buddha. Vesak devotional songs, sil campaigns, Bodhi Poojas, Dansalas, Pandals, lanterns, greeting cards and stamps are some of the things that we see every year at the time of this Buddhist festival. In temples Buddhists worship, offer flowers, light lamps and burn incense. These traditional observances, in essence, have their value in satisfying the religious and emotional needs of the people.
On this holy day the Dana plays an important role. Every devotee gives alms. This is a sign of sharing with joy and peace with people. The Vesak Pandal depicting various Jathaka stories with paintings are erected all over Sri Lanka. They are illuminated and presented beautifully. Buddhists commemorate the important events that took place in the life of Lord Buddha on this Vesak Full Moon Poya Day. First comes the birth of Siddhartha Gautama in Lumbini in Nepal which took place under the arbor of Sat trees where queen Mahamaya gave birth to him. The second event was Siddharta Gautam's supreme attainment as the Buddha, the Enlightened One. The third event was Lord Buddha's Parinibbana over 2500 years ago at Kusinagar.
In the Vesak week we find many activities conducted by the Buddhists devotees such as devotional song campaigns, almsgiving, lighting of Vesak lanterns ..etc. Many Viharas are filled with Atasil devotees and pilgrims all over Sri Lanka to mark this great event. Vesak lanterns are displayed at houses, which are very attractive and beautify the nights. There is a long-standing tradition in Sri Lanka of sending greeting cards on this joyous occasion. People share their happiness among relatives and friends by exchanging Vesak cards. Many associations arrange to hold an exhibition of paintings or competition on Vest lanterns.
